Base Builder picks up every scan your team exports, builds the model base, and opens it in your slicer ready to print — hands-off, end to end. Want to build one yourself? The cloud studio is a drag-and-drop away.
How it works
Once the watcher is on your print station, basing models stops being anyone's job. That's the whole point — and the part nobody else does.
Exactly like they always do — same scanner software, same button, nothing new to learn.
Real machine-learning models trim the scan junk and keep the anatomy: oriented, cleaned, based, bevelled, name engraved — in seconds.
The finished model appears in your slicer, ready to print. Nobody touched anything.
Prefer to drive? The cloud studio builds the same base from a drag-and-drop in any browser — and the finished model still lands in the print station's Ready-to-print folder by itself.
The watcher — desktop app
Install the Base Builder watcher on the print station and the whole job disappears. Anyone on the team exports a scan like they always do — the base builds itself and the finished model opens in the slicer, ready to print. No training, no new steps, nothing to remember. Machine was off when scans were exported? It catches up the moment it starts.
Slicer hand-off currently supports Asiga Composer. Use a different slicer? Request it and we'll build it. Scans are built securely in the cloud and deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
New — Studio ⇄ watcher sync
Base a scan from any browser — the front desk, the consult room, your phone on the couch. The cloud builds it, and the watcher on your print station quietly downloads the finished STL into the Ready-to-print folder before you've walked over. One account, one case list, every computer in the practice already in sync.
Works the other way too: scans your staff export at the print station show up in the web Studio's case board — with status, re-base and download from anywhere.
Features
Built by a dentist who was tired of basing scans by hand — with real machine-learning cleanup, not brittle one-size-fits-all rules.
Whatever you scan with, it works — we read the 3D geometry itself, not a brand's file format. STL, OBJ or PLY.
Machine-learning cleanup removes flaps, spikes and scan junk and keeps every tooth — automatically, with nobody babysitting it.
Every model is sealed, solid and checked before it reaches you — so the slicer never complains and prints don't fail on bad files.
Patient name engraved automatically from the scan file, solid or resin-saving hollow bases, and an edge bevel so prints pop off the plate.
Drag a scan into the browser from any computer — one click, or paint the keep-area by hand. The finished model downloads to your print station by itself.
Scans are processed securely and deleted from our servers within 24 hours — never stored, never used for anything else. Your case list keeps only names and settings.

FAQ
Any scanner that exports STL, OBJ or PLY — Medit, iTero, Shining, 3Shape and others. Base Builder reads the mesh geometry itself, so it doesn't depend on brand-specific file naming or formats.
Uploads are processed and then deleted from our servers within 24 hours — we don't keep them, and we never use them for training. The desktop watcher and the web studio follow the same rule.
It catches up the moment it starts. The watcher keeps a local record of every scan it has ever based — by the scan's content, not its filename — so on startup it quietly checks the export folder, bases anything it's never seen, and skips what's already done without using an export. Re-exports and renamed copies are recognised too, so the same scan never counts twice.
Hit Adjust by hand — the AI pre-paints what to keep, and a slider and brush let you touch it up, then it rebuilds in seconds. Failed builds never count toward your daily exports.
Automatic slicer hand-off currently supports Asiga Composer — the finished model opens ready to print. Any slicer can open the output STL manually, and you can request yours — slicer requests go straight on the roadmap.
